As you might have heard, there’s a few bills currently in congress could potentially be very detramental to publicly funded broadcasting. They are proposing to cut funding from public broadcasting this year, preventing public radio stations from using federal funds to purchase NPR programming and also eliminating public funding for the Corporation of Public Broadcasting. It has currently passed through the House of Representatives and will soon go to the Senate. If passed, it will cut off 170 million people from public broadcasting services.
