Beastie Boys “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” Video dir. by Spike Jonze

In my opinion, the greatest music video of all time is Sabotage by the Beastie Boys directed by Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Being John Malcovich).  Jonze is by far one of my favorite visual directors, and if you missed my last post about his amazing short films, make sure to check it out.  Yesterday, the Beastie Boys released their new video for Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win (feat. Santigold).  The track is one of my favorites off the new album and the music video is insane.  The entire video is made using Barbie dolls and old GI Joes, but instead of stop-motion animating them à la Robot Chicken, the effects are all done using strings, wires and even human hands.  Check out the video below, suckas

Beastie Boys- Hot Sauce Committee Part Two (Now Streaming)

As you may have gathered from my last few posts, my childhood love for The Beastie Boys is unwavering. So, I am pleased to announce that their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part Two is now streaming in full NSFW glory at the official website HOTSAUCECOMMITTEE.com

From what I’ve heard so far, the album is a mixture of old-school Beastie Boys goofiness and a whole new sound. I am really enjoying the new stuff, especially the seventh track “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” and the second one “Non Stop Disco Powerpack.” For more classic Beasties, check out “Long Burn the Fire” and “OK.” They’ll make you want to party for your motherfuckin’ right to fight.

Beastie Boys-”Make Some Noise”

Yeah they’re all as old as my dad at this point, but the Beastie Boys are back and as badass as ever with their new song “Make Some Noise”.  Their new album Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 was supposed to be released in 2009, but MCA got cancer and delayed the release.  Now they’re back, cancer free and they still sound exactly the same.  Enjoy some old-school 90′s style rap-rock from the best.

Fight For Your Right-Revisited Trailer

The Beastie Boys have released a trailer for their star-studded 30 minute music video Fight for Your Right-Revisited.  The film stars Seth Rogen, Danny McBride, and Elijah Wood as Mike D,MCA and Ad-Rock, who are visited by the future versions of themselves (played by Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly and Jack Black.)  The film premiered at Sundance and it going to be released with the Beastie Boys new album Hot Sauce Committee part Two on May 3rd.  The guest stars in this thing are amazing.  I won’t ruin it by telling you who else shows up in this short 2-minute video.

Visit their website for more info.

(Yes that was Will Arnett making an Arrested Development reference. I can’t wait to see this.)

Shimmy’s Re-mixtape

Last night I spun at a highlighter party at the Long Beach ZBT house as a favor to my boys (don’t you love college?).  Amidst a sea of top 40 tracks I threw down a quick, fifty-minute, no-frills mix of some glitch, electro, and dubstep remixes that I randomly picked out of my iPhone.  Of course, I recorded it live.  So here it is in all its glory.  Tracklist/individual track reviews and downloads after the jump.

…and yes, I do ♥ tits.

Shimmy’s Re-mixtape 50 min, 18 secs long
