In my opinion, the greatest music video of all time is Sabotage by the Beastie Boys directed by Spike Jonze (Adaptation, Being John Malcovich). Jonze is by far one of my favorite visual directors, and if you missed my last post about his amazing short films, make sure to check it out. Yesterday, the Beastie Boys released their new video for Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win (feat. Santigold). The track is one of my favorites off the new album and the music video is insane. The entire video is made using Barbie dolls and old GI Joes, but instead of stop-motion animating them à la Robot Chicken, the effects are all done using strings, wires and even human hands.
