Pacific Festival: OC – Early Bird Tix Out / Snoop Dogg Announced

Didn’t take Rachele’s advice did you?  You didn’t buy the dawn patrol tickets for a mere $50 a couple months back, and now you’re stuck with the $75 pricetag.  You’re probably gonna forget this post too and pay a bill at the door.  Sap.  Well let me try to convince you why you OC kids should buy your tickets now so that you can save money for your designer party drugs.

Asides from the Christian-youth concerts, it’s rare that a decent music festival pops up in the county-wide burbs that is the OC (is he kidding?).  Well the Pacific Festival is coming down to these privileged masses Saturday, August 13th, with a barrage of better-known independent artists, delivering a well-needed dose of independent electro, dubstep, and rock to the suburban populace.  If you don’t think you can convince your friends that this slightly alternative music festival is gonna be fun, just tellem’ Snoop Dogg will be there.  Yep, recently announced for the show is our consistently adored rap artist from our childhood, who happens to have only lived juuuust northwest of where this festival will be taking place.

If you feel like your dad’s cover band isn’t cutting it for you on Saturday, August 13th, feel free to drop by Oak Canyon Ranch to check it out.  $75 for the advance tickets and $95 general admission.  If you’re from the right parts of the OC, just ask mommy and daddy to spot you.

The Game, Snoop Dogg, & YG – Purp & Yellow (Black and Yellow Remix)

This only seemed fitting seeing as Aileen posted the video to “Black and Yellow” by Wiz Khalifa just today. Here’s a remix by The Game, Snoop Dogg, and YG; but it’s about the Lakers. You probably know the Lakers because they’ve beat your favorite basketball team. Sorry about that. But seriously, this remix isn’t only about the Lakers -although their 3-peat is predicted in the song- it’s about the wonderful city of Los Angeles in general. Surprisingly, this might be better than the original. Listen for the shout-out to Roscoes (House of Chicken and Waffles. Go eat there, it’s delicious).

SHOWTIME LAKERS!

Gorillaz – “Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach” Video

Just a few days ago Gorillaz released the video for “Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach”, of course, starring Snoop Dogg.

Dr. Dre feat. Snoop Dogg and Akon – Kush

Oh hey, Dr. Dre, where have you been again? Hip hop fans have been waiting anxiously for Dr.Dre’s release of Detox, and last night Dre released “Kush”, which is the first track off the album. I was pleased to see that Dre collaborated with sir Snoop Dogg, a native to my hometown of Long Beach, and also surprised that Akon was on the track as well? Luckily he’s not used too much. Already having some ‘classic’ qualities to it, such as the piano melody (that might remind you of Still D.R.E) and naturally, rapping about pot. Now we just need the rest of the album. We’re ready, Dre.

Ahem, update:
